Accessibility
The German Emigration Center is designed to be extensively accessible. Elevators and wide corridors allow people with mobility impairments and wheelchair users to access all exhibition areas. Two foldable wheelchairs are available for free loan.
For deaf guests, the museum ticket office offers printed texts for selected biographies as a substitute for the audio stations. Hearing-impaired visitors can connect their own headphones with a 3.5mm jack at the stations.
Soundscapes in the exhibition help visually impaired individuals to acoustically follow the paths of emigrants and immigrants. Specially bookable guided tours also allow touching selected exhibits. Assistance dogs are welcome in the museum.
Disabled parking spaces are available in front of the museum, and access to the foyer is step-free.
Detailed information about accessibility can be found on the page of Reisen für Alle, which has certified the museum.
