To Buenos Aires!German Emigrants and Refugees in the 20th Century

The metropolis on the Rio de la Plata never sleeps… The German Emigration House took you to this city of sparkling dreams and unquenched desires in 2008, where happiness and disappointment lie so close together. In Buenos Aires, immigrants sought a better life, Jewish refugees found a new home, and National Socialists went underground. Today, Argentina’s capital is once again one of the most fascinating places in the world after the long years of military dictatorship and a severe economic crisis.

The German Emigration House expanded its permanent exhibition on the history of German emigration to Buenos Aires starting January 21, 2008. German-Argentinian biographies and a film produced specifically for the German Emigration House allow you to participate in the life of this vibrant city.
