Facade Portraits

Anyone who has recently passed by the German Emigration Center may have recognized them – the portraits of over 30 immigrants or their descendants, which relief-like adorn the outer wall of the second extension building and are visible more or less depending on the angle of light.
Our museum has not only gained a new face but many. Who are or were these people? For part of their lives, they were just ordinary residents of Bremerhaven. After their migration to Germany, the port city became their first new home in a new country.
