In dialogue with experts
High school students are preparing for the ‘Day of City History’ 2022.
Around 30 high school students from the Schulzentrum Carl von Ossietzky have thoroughly prepared from August 30 to September 1, 2022, in the Kalliope Hall of the German Emigration Center: On September 16, they will present ‘Places of Dictatorship’ to their younger classmates in Bremerhaven. For this, they critically examined Bremerhaven’s National Socialist past with the support of teachers and engaged experts, gaining a different perspective on their hometown.

Since 2015, about 150 students from the Carl von Ossietzky and Geschwister Scholl school centers, as well as the Lloyd Gymnasium, take turns researching 50 places and biographies in the city of Bremerhaven during the time of National Socialism for the ‘Day of City History’ and convey this to younger students and the interested public.
