The Moon and Us
The DAH invites children and adolescents to a creative competition
The German Emigration Center invites children and adolescents to participate in an exciting creative competition as part of the special exhibition “The Allure of Space. Emigrating to the Moon, Mars, Venus”. The winning images will be displayed in the museum for six months.
What is it about?
The Moon – our constant companion: sometimes huge and close, sometimes small and far away, and sometimes even invisible. But it is always there, waiting to be discovered by you in your own creative way! We are looking for your ideas and visions: Imagine that there are people living on the Moon. How would the Moon look if we looked up from Earth? Surely different than today. That’s exactly the theme of the creative competition:
“The Moon and Us – How would the Moon look if we lived on it?”
Competition Rules
Submission Deadline: April 19, 2025 (postmark counts)
Prizes:
The four best artworks will be presented starting from July 5, 2025, in the special exhibition of the German Emigration Center, along with the works of renowned artists for six months. The winners and their families will also receive free admission to the exhibition and an overnight hotel stay.
Age Categories:
Preschool Age (5-6 years)
Elementary School Age (7-10 years)
Adolescents 1 (11-13 years)
Adolescents 2 (14-17 years)
The announcement of the winners is expected at the end of April 2025.
Submission
One original artwork can be submitted per person.
Maximum size: A3
Permissible art forms: Visual arts such as painting, illustration, digital art (printed), collages, and photography. (Unfortunately, video art, audio plays, sculptures, etc. cannot be considered.)
