Promoting Science in Bremerhaven
Fourth Academic Dinner at the German Emigration Center
On Friday, October 7, 2022, around 120 guests gathered in the festively decorated New York Hall for the fourth Bremerhaven Academic Dinner. The Friends’ Circle for the Promotion of Science in Bremerhaven invited representatives from science, business, politics, and administration to dine together with their personally invited guests and learn about interesting current scientific projects.
The festive lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Carsten Fichter from Bremerhaven University on ‘Hydrogen – a New Star on the Horizon!?’. His colleague, Professor Gerhard Feldmeier, was awarded the Bremerhaven Science Prize. The prize money of 15,000 euros is to be used for a conference with Japanese scientists and business representatives to convey the latest findings on the generation and use of renewable energies.

The Friends’ Circle for the Promotion of Science in Bremerhaven has made it their mission to support the scientific institutions of the city in conducting regionally recognized conferences, congresses, or symposia, thereby increasing the visibility of Bremerhaven as a scientific location.
