On May 17, 2026, we will celebrate with the German Museums Association and ICOM International the International Museum Day under the motto “Museums Uniting a Divided World” – with a bit of luck, it will be your next day at the DAH!

To celebrate the day, we are raffling off:20 x 2 tickets for a museum visit on May 17!

The Prize

The 20 winners will receive a museum visit for two people on May 17, 2026, at the German Emigration Center. The prize is non-transferable and can only be redeemed on this special day.

The Task

Museums bring people together. But what connects you with museums?Complete the sentence “Museums are important to me because…” and share your perspective with us in a brief entry (ideally no more than 1 to 2 sentences). It can be very personal, anecdotal, or shaped by societal issues.

Let us know your contribution

We will raffle the tickets among all entries that reach us via email and through DAH’s social media as comments under the relevant action posts. At the end of the raffle period, we will draw 20 winners and will contact them directly and personally in the following days.
We will also select some responses to share anonymously at the museum, on this website, and on social media on May 17, to showcase a cross-section of thoughts, ideas, and experiences we received. The use of the quote and the chances of winning are not linked.
