Trailer “Wrocław/Breslau”

Visitors to the German Emigration Center can now expect a new short documentary on German-Polish history in the exhibition. The film “Wrocław/Breslau” portrays the (migration) history of the city of Wrocław from 1945 to the present – from the perspective of immigrants and emigrants.

The former Breslau experienced an almost complete population exchange after 1945. After most German residents had to leave the city due to World War II, about Polish displaced persons from today’s Ukrainian Lviv came to Wrocław – among them many Jewish families. In the following decades, many Poles left Wrocław for the Federal Republic. To this day, Wrocław remains a site of immigration and emigration.
