The thematic tour takes the school class to central stations of a historical emigration to New York, provides insights into the city’s history, and highlights the so-called American Dream. Workshops in the Museum
All workshops are available upon request.
What exactly is migration? Since when has it existed and why? How does migration affect all of us? What are prejudices and how do we deal with them? We will explore these important questions together in our interactive migration educational workshop – linguistically, thematically, and didactically tailored to the respective grade level.
The Young Digital Collection is constantly expanded by school classes in this multi-week program through self-created online exhibitions with self-selected and curated objects, which are independently digitized. The students engage with the themes of identity and diversity in the migration society through learning materials, a visit to museum education, and a concluding visit to the German Emigration Center.
