Emigration to the USA
Katja von Schuttenbach, Washington D.C. (USA). In 1990, Katja von Schuttenbach leaves Germany to follow her future husband, an officer in the US Army, to the USA. In the 1990s, she becomes one of the last ‘War Brides.’ This term refers to the foreign wives of American soldiers who emigrated to the USA, especially after World War II.
