Deutsches Auswandererhaus Bremerhaven. edition DAH, 2025.
Prize: 14,90 €
Worldwide, millions of people have been on the move. Voluntarily or forcibly, they leave their homeland in hope of a better life in another country. Between 1830 and 1974, about 7.2 million emigrants set off from Bremerhaven to overseas. At the historic site of the New Port, the Deutsches Auswandererhaus in Bremerhaven brings the stories of these people back to life. The museum also tells the life paths of those who have come to Germany in search of a new home.
The exhibition catalog provides insight into 300 years of immigration and emigration history to and from Germany. With compact information and abundant illustrations, it illustrates the diversity of the migration topic. At the same time, the book reflects the numerous facets of the award-winning experience museum.
