Have you ever wondered what happens when the lights suddenly dim in the museum? The exhibition becomes a little more alive, the floorboards creak doubly, and mysterious shadows swirl on the walls. How good that we all got a flashlight in the foyer!

The tour

On Halloween, the DAH transforms for children up to 12 years into a mysterious discovery world: Together with their families, they go on a quest with flashlights, uncover the secrets of the museum and stories of people who set off on perilous journeys to a new home many years ago.

Our family tour leads children and adults through the history of emigration – from the farewell at the quay in Bremerhaven to the crossing on an emigrant ship to New York. In the glow of the flashlights, there is a lot to discover…

The tour is suitable for families with children up to 12 years and lasts about one hour.

Spookily beautiful Halloween: Come in costume!

In keeping with the “spooky” Halloween theme – e.g. as a ghost, witch, monster, or vampire – families that dress up or wear makeup will have the entire tour fee waived! They only pay the regular admission and additionally receive a 20% autumn holiday discount on the family ticket that day.

Make-up opportunities will also be available at the museum on this day.
